aqb Volunteering
Volunteering period will be from March until May of 2022, to help at the upcoming exhibition “Are you sure you want to leave?”, a selection of the OSTRALE Biennale "Breathturn".
APPLICATION

OPTIONAL TASKS
We would like volunteers to help throughout the exhibition minimum once a week for 5 hours. Volunteering periods are:
• Exhibition installation, preparation between March 1 - 18
• Art mediation, exhibition guarding between March 19 - May 22
REQUIREMENTS
• Conversational level of Hungarian and English
• Having personal interest in cultural and art related projects
COMPENSATION
• We can provide you with the signing of your school / university documents (if required), along with inviting you to gain a basic insight of the content, preparation and outcome of a Budapest-based international contemporary art exhibition.

Being an independent cultural institution and a centre of contemporary arts, art quarter budapest hosts a wide diversity of programs. The building complex consists of a broad collective of in-house visual and performance artists and gives home to creative industry companies also. Aqb curates local on-site exhibitions and hosts a residency program for various international creators.

WHAT WE OFFER
Our residence program offers all entering participants a fully furnished room within a communal apartment located on the aqb premises, as well as a studio space catering to the project’s requirements.
We offer varied services to integrate our residents into the local art scene and assist in establishing professional connections that best support their work and career. aqb personnel provide assistance through the program, catering to practical needs related to life in Budapest, to obtaining necessary materials, equipment and more.
The residency program offers broad possibilities for artists, including cooperation among various disciplines, backgrounds and interests to serve as sources of inspiration.
Additional opportunities: (by request and dependent on available programming and personal project requirements)

Meetings and lectures with Hungarian curators and art critics.

Mediation in organising exhibitions and presentations at aqb and other galleries and institutions in Budapest.
DURATION
1 to 3 months.
PARTICIPATION FEE
The fee for participating in the aqb Artist-in-Residence Program is EUR 850 per month. This fee serves as an important contribution to the maintenance and operation of our institution.
