Dóra Benyó focuses on the performative aspect in video, installation and performance. She stages natural occurring actions in constructed contexts, in order for new elements to become visible and to experience the power of repetition. Being loosely and playfully instructed, the performers become the interpreters of themselves. By having these instructions executed she takes a close look to the automatically regulated behaviour. She searches for the trigger of our transit and guidance and provides a picture of the human as a moving subject, materialised in a physical dialogue.
Beside her artistic practice she works as a freelance assistent for Laure Prouvost, builds decors/exhibitions and has taught art lessons.
