IChin Liao

IChin Liao uses abstract paintings and drawings in her artistic practice to focus on the psychological states of social impact and ideology. She uses real life experiences, in addition to imagination to create her abstract formations; with an emphasis on the creative process by leaving the paint traces and marks on her work visible. In her current project, inspired by Georgia O’keefe’s words: “Stones, bones, clouds – experience gives me shapes...”, her work The Black Ocean focuses on migration and vitality by combining different visual elements into an imaginative abstraction that describes psychological states and emotions.
