In her artistic practise, Nelli Szabó researches the boundaries of design and fine arts. She began her career as a visual artist and continued as a designer. Through her works of art, she seeks to mediate the crossover, interdisciplinary possibilities and forms of the two fields.
She mainly examines the relationship between design and fine arts along aesthetic, cultural anthropological and philosophical concepts, touching on conceptual categories and phenomenas such as: liminality, marginality, the aesthetics of „strange”, critical design, and the taxonomy of objects.
Her works are not related to a medium, but often created as intersections of design, craft and sculpting.
